Fletcher First-Year Fellow
De'Omini Daniely is from Macon, Georgia, and a recent graduate of Duke University's Master of Public Policy Program. Her academic interests are focused on international development and human rights. In 2023, she obtained her Bachelor's of Political Science at the University of Georgia. Her research has been focused on a wide range of topics, varying from foreign policy to women's rights and environmental justice.
At Duke, De'Omini's Master's Project with Durham Public Schools (DPS) sought to identify the most effective strategies for DPS to enhance the Community Eligibility Provision (also known as Free & Reduced Lunch) and maximize student participation. She also participated in the Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security, and Conflict Transformation program as a Pipeline fellow. During her time in the program, she engaged in numerous discussions on global peace and security, facilitated virtual discussions with leaders in the field, and expanded her research skillsets by diving into topics related to women's reproductive justice and security, specifically in Latin America and the Caribbean regions.
De'Omini worked virtually with the U.S Department of State's Education USA Armenia program, where she supported high school and undergraduate students in Armenia who were actively applying for higher education programs in the U.S. She served as both a mentor and academic coach, developing weekly presentations and resources to assist students in their college application process and professional development journey.
As a Fellow, De'Omini is passionate about supporting research efforts and community partner projects, and engaging in community building. In her downtime, she enjoys writing poetry, traveling, and playing the flute.
